About
Background
Hello everyone, and welcome. My name is Jason Bent and I am the man behind Bent’s Woodworking. A little about myself. I served 20 years in the Army as an Infantryman and recently retired in May of 2023. I have been all over the world, have seen many things, and built some incredible friendships. In 2012, I was assigned to Ft Benning to be a Drill Sergeant. It was this assignment that I came to the realization that I had a passion for teaching. In 2016, I was reassigned to North Georgia where I would again find myself in a teaching role, this time teaching Cadets.
Before we moved in 2016, my wife looked at me and said, “Jason, I want you to build us a table when we get our new house.” I looked at my wife and said, “Okay, I will need some tools for that.” Not knowing where to begin, I watched a YouTube video that my wife sent me for the table that she wanted from DIY Pete. In this video, it listed exactly what I needed to do and even what tools I would need to do it. I went to the store, bought the tools it said I needed, and built a table…….. I was HOOOKED. This led to me starting a custom furniture business, which led to a well-equipped workshop.
About a year later, I was in my shop one evening and decided that I was going to make a YouTube video talking about how I got started in woodworking. It was a terrible video, but it was a start. Since that day, December 31, 2017, I have committed my time to making more videos with the hopes that it inspires someone else to do the same thing. I even stopped building custom furniture as a result. My goal now is to provide my audience with as much knowledge and information that I can all in an effort to make YOU a better woodworker.
Thanks!
Jason
